The Life of a Hearing Aid Battery – Harford County Aegis “Ask a Doctor”

Q: How long should my hearing aid batteries last?
A: Fresh hearing aid batteries typically last 5-10 days, depending on the model of hearing aid and size of the battery.  If people were comfortable wearing hearing aids large enough to accommodate AA batteries, they would last for weeks.  But smaller hearing aids means smaller batteries, which means shorter battery life.  The good news is that they aren’t very expensive.  Our office has a wholesale battery club which lets local residents purchase hearing aid batteries at roughly 43 cents a piece.  That price is less than half of what most grocery stores and pharmacies offer, so it’s a pretty popular program – even with people who aren’t our patients.  It’s free to join.  You can call us at (410)569-5999 for more info or simply show up at our Festival at Bel Air office location (M-F, 9am-5pm) to start getting your hearing aid batteries at wholesale cost.
